A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

With the complete knowledge this could extend my double secret probation here on BYC,,

How in the H_E double hockey sticks do you get the semen from the rooster/tom... ( I am not sure I even really want to know....)

Ethel has been in the rafters for the last 2 days as far as I know in the chicken coop. I was worried she could not get down. The chicken coop is not designed for the longer flight path of turkeys. I thought she might be afraid to jump down.

I reached up and helped her down, She being Ethel did not fight me one little bit, I gave her a quick hug and let her run free on the ground. I am not sure she appreciated my gesture of kindness. She did not stick around nor did she give me a lecture. But it is so cold, she might just want to ignore me and go back into the rafters.

I am boiling the frozen eggs now and will be taking them outside for all to enjoy.

I just locked down my super dark marans eggs that I had shipped to me. Wish me luck! I also checked on my turkey eggs. All still looking good

However you should know I consider you evil. Because of you I have a full incubator and a half rack of eggs ready to set on Saturday!

Lol, because of me huh? I twisted your arm! I also have about 20 more turkey eggs so far sitting on the counter waiting for Friday to go in.

It's snowing here today like crazy. We've got about 4-5 inches so far and just got a message that the kids are being sent home from school early. I worry about them on the busses.

100% your fault, I had no plans to start hatching until April...

I let mo out again this morning. He still isn't eating. . He looks so depressed. I got curly to eat some bread. I know it's not really nutritious but I dipped it in water and was able to give him an asprin. His head isn't nearly as swollen as Mo. I fashioned a wooden rod on a big tote so Curly can perch. I can pretty easily take him out by lifting the whole tote. My back is paying for all this lifting. I have a pretty intense back issue from my lower back to my neck... 25 Years Army.. 15 doing many light missions... Your load is anything but light. I had to have a plate a six screws in my neck in '11. I was a desk jockey till I retired in 2013.
I originally put him in the tub so Mo wasn't getting to him because when I first put them in there, MO went after him. Now, it seems he prefers it.
The door is open so he could get out if he wanted, but he is happy on the perch. I'm wondering if I shouldn't see if his feet could straighten out if I let him rest.
I'd feel better if I knew he was eating well.

Mo went in the coup first last night which was a first. I normally spend about 10 minutes getting him in. I brought him in again cause he was only letting some chickens in and he started pecking one of the younger ones.
I think it's time to build them a couple of their own.

His snood isn't as swollen this morning, I put some antibiotic on him in the middle of the night. Idk what woke me up, but when I checked on him it looked like it needed it.. he just rested his head in my palm while I applied it so I know he liked it... he went to the door so I let him outside.
Curly seems content on the perch though.
