Boy, I sure don't know. What weight are you looking for at show time? BB are easy to grow, of course they are like CX broilers and tend to over eat. I would get twice as many as you expect to show, just incase. Some turkeys love to commit suicide in very creative ways.

I wish I know more but without knowing your end goals it is kind of hard. You will have to familiarize yourself with the SOP for them and what the local judges seems to like.

its not a problem.... I think that the Ideal Weight is about 45 lbs. I get them around febuary 18th, And they go to fair on june 23, and butcher day is a few days after that. I Am only showing 1-2, and selling one. I think we are planning on Buying 3 Poults, but I think we might do 4.

Aurora I have found with my limited skills, I cannot tell a good from a bad turkey egg at the end, unless it is a clear. They will surprise you..

I put 2 training eggs where I wanted Big Bird to put hers, and found her egg exactly where I wanted it today....yay!! We'll see if we can duplicate that again tomorrow lol.

Fiesty...Big Bird just needed to be shown where to lay her eggs. What a good girl! Are these fertile? Are you going to put her with one of the guys?

Aurora. ..I have to think Pebbles can feel some kind of movement , and maybe she can hear them. Hence the panic attack. First time mom! Oh I can't wait to hear how she does with babies!!

Are turkey eggs the same as chicken eggs when checking for fertility? Since Big Bird dropped and cracked yesterday's on a turd, I finished cracking it open and it looked fertile to me based on what little I know about chicken eggs. I know that the boys jumped on her a few times before I moved her, so I suppose they could be fertile?

We were talking about fertility awhile back. If I remember, correctly a hen can remain fertile for several months after being bred. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
