Wow.. You have heavy soil. Very heavy soil.

I would assume you have a lot of earthworms there. If you have a sugar beet around you have heavy dark soil!




As a side note my White Lab went to college and grad school in Morris!
Your right about the earthworms. And the field 100 feet from the ducks occasionally has sugar beets. So is heavy dark soil good or bad concerning blackhead?

I know there is some dog thing in Morris, but I can't remember what it is?
 
We have ALOT of worms here! I dig them up for the chickens. I just take a shovel and turn tge dirt so they have stuff to do. I have never had an issue with black head?
 
I have no idea if it is true, But I have read a lot about blackhead passing through earthworms. I think it just means you have a better chance than I do here on my sand...

Earthworms are afraid of my dirt!

As I recall the dog training place was about 1/2 mile outside of town.
