A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

So... first off.. drink of choice: Cinnabon Vodka, Cream soda, and a little root beer... Don't knock it.. it's really good..

So I went by and seen my Mo.../ now Maverick. .. it wasn't withdrawals, as I was getting hatching eggs, but it was so nice to see him again.

I'm getting Black Copper Maran hatching eggs.... she also gave me 6 eggs from her bourbon red, and my, we'll their Blue Slate.. We are gonna split what hatches. What do you get when you match those two?

I also have one of my Susy I bought from them.. I haven't seen Curly reply to her advances but I'm gonna try it is guess... or should I just eat it? She is a Comercial white and Curly is a Blue Slate...

I think I may need to add more cream soda and root beer... this is working quick

I am so jealous of all the babies - but not ready for my own yet. Loving all the pictures :)

On the topic of babies.....I think Big Bird may be thinking about trying out broodiness. She's been parked in the nest box since last night and is refusing to budge. With the recent changes to the residents in the coop, I was thinking that it might be the uncertainty. But she has always come out for treats and is currently ignoring the shaking treat container. She is sitting on the ceramic egg and hasn't laid one of her own for a couple of days. When I put the other ceramic egg in the box, she immediately moves it under her. I took them away tonight, just in case. Is there anything else that I should be looking for that might be causing the weird behavior? And if it is broody - can you break a broody turkey, is it the same as a chicken? I don't have anything for her to hatch and don't have room for babies right now. I'm working on DH to help me build a new turkey house and chicken house - but the forward momentum isn't happening yet

You might be able to get her off the nest and break her. but I suggest you get a set of goalie pads and face mask before you try..Good luck.

I'm enjoying just reading about how many eggs ya'll are cramming into those incubators! The pictures are the best!

Fiesty...I'm assuming my girls will go broody at some point. So keep us posted on breaking Big Birds broody!
