A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Morning all....

Memphis, I like that picture too. That is the little SS that insists on being held every night.  As soon as I held the phone up to the cage it came running to check it out. If I walk by the cage it comes running to see me.  There is such a difference between Creamettes and the SS. Creamettes stampede away from me, SS stampeded towards me.

Aurora..... Not that I would ever complain or say a nasty thing,,,BUT why didn't you send me some of those eggs!!! I love the lavenders.   I want Marans, but I am leery at the same time. I worry about their combs. I do like the dark eggs though. I want a dark layer.

I am thinking I might have to expand my breeders. I think I should get some Poofy breeds, Cochin, silkies and so on. It seem the suburban chicken people like them...

I didn't have any to send you lol. These are all replacement stock for my flock. The only adult I have is the one hen Merci. I'll have some in a couple months though :) unless you were talking about the lavenders. I just recently found out that my ameraucanas carry the lavender gene. Once they grow out though, I'll be hatching lavenders like crazy!

I have some really poofy silkies growing out right now too :)

I have my first Pip of the day. (external)..
It is one of (my creation) pea combed Black Australorp.....

I hope to get them back to looking like a Australorp with the large egg, but without the single comb.

That little guy asleep is too funny Ralph. But I love the one sticking it's beak into the camera.

Poor Coffee...nothing worse than chasing turkeys over hill & dale. Coffee, you need to sit out there with them & feed them treats. They'll never run farther than your back porch!

Two of my chocolate turkeys are brooding right now, but I gave them chicken eggs because I didn't want to risk the turkey eggs. I have some of the chocolates eggs in the incubator that will be hatching by the end of the month.

Chocolates! They are gorgeous. Good luck with the hatch. Of course your required to post pictures when they hatch! :D

Congrats! Good luck on the hatch. I need to set mine this morning, too.

I like the cup idea, I am going to steal it! When I get those with the bad hips/legs and need to splint them, I am now going to have them live in a cup!

There is no such thing as Cinco de Mayo! That is our Anniversary! When we got married (way back in the stone age, no one had heard of Cinco de Mayo around here. They just made that up to take "our" day away from us!
