WOW Ralphie! What a girl! Can't wait to see pictures. Still cant get over how she found that tree.

It was an amazing nest site. Margaret is 10x the Broody my Pet Lizzie is. I have seen her off her nest about 5 times today. The best one was around Noon. She ran from her nest all puffed up and broody looking, to the water tank. She took a fast drink.

I thought "Oh well, it is hot today so a few minutes to get a drink will not make a difference" I expected her to run back to her nest. Instead she wanders across the drive and takes a leisurely sand bath with King George....

Then this afternoon when Margaret brought her babies out, she again came running out, got a drink, then came to check out the babies, get a bite to eat and went back to her nest. Anyone want to bet on if those eggs rot or hatch?

I like your brooder solution. And I'm with you on the zip ties. I finally started putting them in the front seat of my truck,and forbid ANYONE to touch them.lol Keep us updated on how the thermostat works out. I have background in HVAC so I understand how its made. Im curious to know how responsive it is and wether it holds up.I hope you have positive results!!

I am a huge Zip or Cable tie fan too, I have them in a dozen colors and sizes, the 11 inch ones I buy in Black and white a thousand at a time. They are the duct tape of this century!

The Tree Sussex has brought her babies out,  I thought she had 4 when I peeked in on her.  She brought out 11. 

I bet that was a nice surprise I have another broody hen that I'm trying to break. Last time she tried, she kept switching nests and none of her eggs hatched then she attacked the babies that I tried to graft on to her. Pebbles is broody again too :/ I don't want to even go there again. I keep kicking her off the nest but she keeps going right back.

Oh...had my first appointment with the surgeon. Geez. Plates above & below elbow. Lots of screws & such. But the good news is he let me ditch the cast for a fully radial brace! All due to my weirdly high tolerance for pain. 80 staples came out. Guy fileted my arm like a fish.

Well I can't get my pics to upload for some reason. I'm not sure if this is the thread to ask my questions. Do you have a thread for helping someone figure out what kind of turkey they have as well as what sex the birds are?
