A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Thanks for the laugh Ralph, after the day I had yesterday I needed it. You folks think you get cold come visit my area of New Mexico we've seen -30 now I know that isn't as cold other places.

Wow. A lot of you get some rediculous low temps! The lowest we've had here (that I've dealt with anyway) was -12. Needless to say, school was canceled that day and the dogs did NOT want to go out to pee. We put a heat lamp in the coop just to give a little extra help that day.

Wow they cancelled school? That's nuts! We've only had school cancelled once in the last 30 years, because of a freak early winter storm dumping a fat load of snow all of a sudden in October/November and it being 4 feet all at once before the plows were running for the year. They don't cancel school because it's cold. We get weeks of it being -10 to -40 degrees, once it hits 30 on the positive side, you start seeing us northerners pulling out the t shirts.

I know that I am LONG overdue for the "weekly" mottled pictures so I had the camera out today and took a bunch :)

Romeo. Sweet Pea is standing off to his right so you can see how big they've gotten.

Romeo is right in front of Adam and Dinner is at the bottom left. That might be Juliet on the cement but I'm not sure

Princess and Queenie, the infamous palms! They're always together, no matter what they're doing. Queenie is healing up wonderfully and doesn't limp anymore. Her old damaged scales on her leg have mostly all fallen off and new ones are growing in.

Romeo, strutting around

Romeo, still strutting, Cuddles eyeing up my son's lap, Dinner getting his chest rubbed by my daughter and Eve on my daughter's lap lol

Romeo (left) and Dinner (right)

Had to get a picture of Adam, missing all his tail feathers (most anyway)

Random shot of them running around

Its hard to get pictures with multiple toms on your lap (Romeo and Dinner of course)

Cuddles loves to be on my lap, even with Eve harassing her because that's "her" spot. She was hiding her head from Eve lol

Cuddles and Romeo

Great pics Aurora! The birds look wonderful. Although those Palms look like trouble! :D
Cant believe how big they are getting! Cant decide who is having more fun...the turkeys or the kids!

I think my birds are finally starting to molt. There are feathers everywhere in the run and the coop. When the girls were out running around today - Big Bird left a trail of feathers every time she flapped or shook herself. I think she has a whole 4 tail feathers left now. I'm getting my camera ready - if she starts looking really awful I'll be snapping pics :). Coco isn't shedding at all, and I would have expected her to after the "long brood" she took up

Well the meaties have gone to freezer camp. Got a nice range of 12 to 18 lbs dressed out, so we are pretty happy with them. To be honest, I had a hard time doing them in, they are such characters, and so friendly to hang out with. Some of the meaties birds were getting more ankle problems, and I would rather they get done while healthy than wait till they started breaking down.
