A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Well, my neighbor's turkeys came over again, and upon finding no food in my flock's main feeder (since I was attempting to not feed the turkeys and not encourage them to come back) they broke into my brooding area in my coop to eat the feed out of those feeders - and trampled a ton of my grow outs to death, including thousands of dollars worth of AC chicks, one of my two peachicks, and Stuffing, my little poult :( So now I have a lonely poult and a lonely peachick who have latched onto each other for now but will need friends of their own species, and I'm out thousands of dollars. Not that I was going to sell those, those were my keepers, but they were worth $400 each bird.

If the turkeys come back again, I'm eating them. I feel bad that the neighbor apparently doesn't feed them enough and that they probably don't have hens (they keep following my geese around and displaying, the geese are not amused) but I just can't keep feeding them and they've now cost me almost all of next year's breeding stock and totally wiped out one new breed I was getting starting with this year that is very rare and nearly impossible to find. I had been looking for years before I got ahold of them.

Anyway, don't mind my rant. I'm just upset. This is the same neighbor with the pig, by the way.

Sorry for your losses.

You do need to go through legal channels whether or not they can pay. At the least you should be able to take their poultry as part compensation but you have to do it legally. I recommend that you contact your local animal control for help and advice on how to handle this.

Good luck.

Oh my goodness, I'm so so sorry! I can't even imagine how horrible that must be. I can't blame you for eating them next time they show up

Ha! I think Mary's twin is at my house! Daisy looks like a porcupine.

Despite their molt, we've had a break through on the mosquito front. I now only have to point at one & they walk over & eat it! Such smart girls!!
