A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

I can't believe this is the same boy as my avatar - I still think he's cute..... but he doesn't sit on my lap anymore

Snitch had a full day today. I am really falling for him. I kind of do that for the dumb ones.

All to juvvy Turkeys were in the pole barn working with me today. Meaning I was working and they were sitting up high looking down on me and my manual labor. Like all turkeys they were management and inspectors. It was chilly up here and windy so I had only the south doors open. 17 turkeys found their way in the south door. One did not.

I heard a turkey in distress at the west door. I opened it and in came Snitch.

After my afternoon coffee break, I went back out and 17 turkeys were in the shed, Snitch was trapped in the toads pen running back and forth against the wire screaming bloody murder. His snood was scraped and bleeding, I doubt the toads did it. They were following him back and forth with a "Look at that idiot" look on their faces.

I opened the gate and Snitch ran out. Of course it was impossible for Snitch to get out of the pen the same way he got in. It is a 4 ft fence with no cover. I am sure he flew in, unless one of the others drop kicked him in.

Snitch just is not all that bright.

Ralph - Snitch is definitely a "pet" turkey.....want pictures!!

I got home very late last night from WI, so had a very leisurely day today. Meaning - I sat out with the birds most of the day and played on my ipad :). Had some very happy chirps and no one went very far away from me - it's nice to be missed lol. They took turns running across my lap and knocking over my diet coke. Apparently DH doesn't give them quite as much attention as I do  I may have to find someone to come over and give them some play time when I go away in December :p. I see that we may have some pretty wicked wind storms starting tomorrow night and going through the weekend. I guess tomorrow will be spent buttoning up everything - just in case it does hit us. And I should probably fuel the generator, but hopefully don't need it.

Fiesty, when I'm out of town I have a sitter. Just can't quite convince her to hug my hens! I can tell they miss me. They stick tight when i get home.

Ralph....we need some Snitch pics!!

I don't have any "Snitch" pictures, he does not hang with the poults all the time. I do have some pictures though.

I will try to get "Snitch's picture when he tattles on them today.

R2Elk, I might be making another trouble making PITA with Snitch, but he is just so darn cute. I have no idea why I make a pet out of some. I know better. I might have to come live with you for a year so you can teach me not to make pets out of them..

We start with JJ. Because he is the king.

While JJ was talking to us below the deck, we found it was a ruse so the hens could raid the deck. Judy was not happy with this, She is so anti turkeys on the deck.

The rest are the youngsters.

Nice pictures duluthralphie it's hard to not make them pets but I just have to remember what I got them for ....my young ones are really growing these will be pets..
