Same here. I am only getting pullet eggs. My Cream Legbar pullet started laying a while back and then quit. I was bummed about it. Then the other night I found this:

What a stash! Wonder when they were planning to start sitting on that! Lol

I kept my birds all in the coop today, I think I will keep them in tomorrow too. When they fill the nest boxes they can go outside again.!!!


I am going to be culling turkeys soon. The Toms will be cut drastically shortly.

Poor birds are going to have a long indoor wait until they fill nest boxes so they can go outside The days just keep getting shorter....sigh. I had 1 baby egg today and that was it. Seems like poor payment for the clean barn, feed and treats

Yeah Ralphie....what are your breeding plans for this spring? Are you sticking to colors you can show? Are you separating some of your prospects and working with them to get used to being handled like the chickens? What about you Holm? You going to show turkeys too??

I think I am going to show some turkeys, I will be putting some turkeys into small cages to cage train them in the spring. Birds really tame down when they are in cages and the only interactions they have are with people. God bless the Stockholm syndrome.


I am going to breed pure lines only this year. If JJ was not such a pet I would get rind of him too, but I would be sleeping in the dog house for the rest of my life if I did that.
