r2elk: nice looking birds. Looks like snow and cold isn't bothering the turkeys one bit. -27 can't imagine that. it's supposed to get -6 here tonight.
ralphie: -22 that's toooo. cold as well
but at least the winds not howling.
it's 13 here now just started snowing hard and steady. wind blowing around 20 mph.
I swear I have 10 of the dumbest chickens on the planet. they were huddled up against the pen fence. So started moving them to a pens for the night. but they would scatter and some I got into a pen the others would be right back to the same spot on the fence laying back down.
got the all in and they huddled back up on the ground. there was plenty on roost bars and dog houses to get in or on. but they wanted the ground. so I left them.
my turkeys roosted down the pen edge. 2 rooster in a tree. they wouldn't go inside either.
hopefully I don't have turkey and chicken popcicles in the morning.
