I got all the turkeys locked up last night with no chasing or fighting. I found I have to wait until they are inside then sneak out the door and shut them in without one of them hearing or seeing me. If they hear or see us they all run out of the coop to greet us an play, "Bedtime Games".

I still have a pair. Two were decapitated by a very pesky Owl a few months back. It also got one of my Barred Rocks. I'm guessing my Black Copper Marans that went missing last week met an untimely end via Owl. I'm almost happy the weather has been below zero - nobody wants to leave the coop. I plan on breeding an Owl a** kicking rooster.

Good luck on that, send him this way... I would like to get 1,000 feet of really fine nearly invisible piano wire to string between trees to decapitate the (man or beaver made structure that holds back water in a river) owls...

Owls are tougher than I ever thought. Sorry you lost some ...
 
I will be two turkeys short in the morning.

I went to put them to bed and they took off through the snow into the woods. I locked the door and came back inside,.

I need to cut down my number of turkeys, These two might as well be the first ones. I am not chasing them through 3 feet of snow in sub zero weather.

May the Owls have a good feast...
