Finnie...keeping my fingers crossed all the Cuddles babies hatch!!

Micah....I believe they are mostly Speckled Sussex. We refer to them as SS around here. Cuddles is one of Ralph's SS roosters....his name says it all.

Holm....congrats on getting Mr. T on the carousel! Way to represent dude!! Are the new girls in love with him yet??

Mind if I join in? I...uh...have a turkey^^^^^

Welcome!

Hi Micah....welcome! I have a bourbon.

Aurora, yep, I fly a bunch. Proper ID is the most important. And getting there early enough to clear TSA. Airports are well marked. Its hard to get confused or lost. Most times gate agents will let those that need extra time board early. Is this a direct flight or do you have to change planes?

We have a 55 minute layover to change planes on the way out and about an hour and a half layover to change on the way back. I didn't even give them a thought. I'm thinking of signing is up for the 36 hour, early bird check in to try to get us on the plane earlier to get some better seats.

My Ralohie Ralphie eggs are here!!

I'm still at the PO. I just peeked in the top of the box and they look fine. Gotta go home now and candle them and set them upright for 24 hours!

Edited to fix spelling error. I don't think Ralphie wants a new nickname like Feisty got....

I hope you have a great hatch! Ralohie isn't as bad as Fishy lol

I had a busy morning today! Came home with Ralphie's eggs, candled them, got them sitting upright in a carton, and then had to turn around and drive to Indianapolis to pick up some chicks I had on order from a feed store there.

This feed store is more like a boutique. It's in a trendy neighborhood where it's very fashionable to do urban homesteading. The nice thing is, that they order all kinds of special breeds from Meyer Hatchery, and have the list of what is coming in each week on their website, months in advance. And if you want something that's not on the list, you can special order it, and they will try to get it in. It makes it a nice way to get one or two breeds without having to place a large order with a hatchery yourself. (Albeit at a markup! ;) And their selection is way more varied than what Tractor Supply will get in. I got 2 Buff Brahma last week, 2 SS, 1 Partridge Cochin, 1 Dominique, 1 Mille Fleur d'Ucclé bantam this week, and in 4 weeks I'm getting 2 Buff Chanteclers.

Here are today's fluff balls:
