A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Finnie! Congrats on the grandbaby!! How exciting! And the SS babies! I just love that breed. They are cool chickens! Your poults are looking good. Love the shot of them checking out the cat. Glad someone else takes their birds for a walk. Mine love taking a stroll. Last evening we walked down a few houses to a neighbor. She happened to have her garage door opened. Both birds ended up inspecting the contents.

MountainBourbons....congrats on a heck of a hatch. Boy thats a batch 'o bug eye bourbons! We will need pictures!! Is that really food on the brooder floor?

AND Holm! FINALLY!! Mr. T babies!! This is exciting! We get to play "Guess the Variety"!

If anybody notices the time stamp and wonders why Finnie is posting at 2:45am (or 1:45 if you're in the wrong time zone ;) ) it's because

MY DAUGHTER IS IN LABOR!! :jumpy

It's way too soon for me to go to the hospital, but I can't sleep, either!

Congratulations! Boy or girl? Or do you not know. Going to be exciting times! A and the feathers babies all look awesome!

I took a couple pictures yesterday. Eve, Romeo, and Princess were out few ranging most of the day. Then some random flock pictures. The silkies, showgirls, Ayam cemani, and CX are getting big. The CX are growing slow and love playing or in their tractor.

Then, these 2 jumped in my car at the feed mill. I was totally not expecting them. They ate little toulouse goslings lol. Met Sunshine and Lollipop! They follow us anywhere lol

Holm's let us know when the eggs are candled. I hope they are fertile.

Ethel Jr is Going to be a Mom again.

FInnie is this the first Grandchild? What "breed" is it? We have 4 Girls and 1 Boy, They are so much cooler than kids. I am trying to talk the worthless kids into another Grandson, but not having much luck..... I might have to bribe them.

You will love the SS.

As far as the gooses go,,,,welll

All right, how long can a chicken stay broody?? I've got a couple that Look like they've decided to never leave the nestbox. They sat on a golf ball (1) for two weeks. Two hens sharing a golf ball..... Finally relented and stuck some RP eggs under them

They should do fine. I had mine sitting on golf balls for a week or two just to make sure they were serious about it.

One hatched a bunch of chicks, the other, killed each chick as it hatched. I am guessing that genius thought the chicks were after her eggs.

I have an RP that wants to go broody, Her I have no idea what to do with. She is still laying eggs, but refusing to get out of the nest and I have to lift her to get the eggs out from under her, while enduring stink eye.

I assume when I pull back a stump instead of a hand she will be serious.

I had a SPR sit for 2 months on nothing before I finally gave her eggs. She's relentless when she wants to brood though lol

All in all these two have been broody over 2 months now. They hatched two chicks last month. The chicks were outside the nestbox, the hens never budged. Took the chicks and put them in a brooder.
