A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

I remember Pebbles starving herself last year! So far....nothing is broody at my house. Except for the robin on my bathroom window sill. There is a Mr. Robin. He's standing guard. Still only the two eggs as of this morning. But she may not be done yet.

Just thought I would share, might get a kick out of it. So last week I was asking about my turkey being a broody mama....well she officially took over my broody hen's nest. (the broody took up shop over some golf balls instead, so turkey came to the rescue). So right now I have a turkey sitting on 6 duck eggs, which are all developing lol.

I was about to move her but I felt so bad for her, she started "turkey crying/whimpering" when I reached under her to take away the eggs (which I've been doing with all the chicken eggs that magically end up in her nest). It was so pitiful and sad, that I caved. (much to her pleasure).

They are due to hatch May 1st.

Ralphie, Your rule makes sense to me--but was hard to accomplish in a single seat bird.

Memphis, We really had two forms of propulsion if you count the rocket pack in the seats....

Adam has less than a week left now. I'm setting the last turkey eggs for the season tonight so I have plenty of time to get the poults sold before our big trip. I have a few poults in a seperater waiting to be released but Adam has been threatening them through the fence. I know he killed one of my mottled blacks last year. I don't want him killing any of these guys. Once he's gone, I'll let them loose.

Auroradream: sorry Adam has to go. But if it make it more harmonious around the farm it will be a good thing.

Your setting your last turkey eggs of the year already. I'm just getting started. I have about 100 incubating now.

My easter hatch is over I have 42 new little mix chickies.

Those 2 narris were locked back up in the doghouse tonight setting on the only 2 eggs laid for the day. I have 1 Iso pen left might put them in there with nothing but a roost. I don't want broody girls quite yet. But they seem determined.

Did bumblebee pass keyboarding 101. Or did she just use the hunt and peck method.

Big bid looks content.

It was on and off clouds today 20 plus mph winds. But I was inside at work so it didn't bother me today.

My birds have taken off on a slacking spree for egg laying. Only got 2 eggs out of 11 hens today. My bourbons have given me 1 egg in 3 days.

Have to work again tomorrow.

So happy easter to all

Sorry you gotta work tomorrow Feedmen. I'm in Ste. Genevieve it was crazy windy here too! My hens took a break about a week ago. No idea why....slackers!
