Yipee!! So...there is vague discussion of being able to determine narri sex based on feather color. Is that true??

I have read that Narragansetts are the only heritage variety that can be feather sexed. The feather sexing must be done within the first three days.

It's been awhile but I read that males will look more like a bronze with a touch of grey shortly after hatch.

But I cannot find the article I read to remember all the details.

So thinking on keeping these to see how they turn out and if the info somewhat holds true.

But I doesn't matter I have my first few turkey bebies of the year

Chickens are suspected to be MG positive, which I hear hits them hard, plus lots of earthworms so likely blackhead around. Well, earthworms in the spots the former property owner didn't scrape ALL THE TOPSOIL off.

Then again, the neighbour's turks were healthy as horses, so...

Don't rightly know. Maybe someday.

You NEED turkeys! Chickens are wonderful, but turkeys are amazing! We have lots of earthworms here but haven't had any issues with blackhead...yet anyway. It's been 3 years so far.
