I'm in Montana. It's a big state, and r2elk is a southern neighbor. Even though it gets hot in the summer, at least it is dry heat so sweating actually does something other than make you sticky. I feel bad for you southerners complaining about the humidity! I don't think I could do it. When I visited Iowa as a kid, I hated the humidity there. Plus being at lower elevations feels wierd breathing that thick air. My parent's ranch is 5 sections deeded and 5 sections BLM in central Montana, in one of the least populated counties in the lower 48. Yeah, back east the ranches are tiny! My parents ranch is considered modest! (A section is a square mile)Ralphie - there is a lot of truth to what you said! I live in that little narrow piece of MD where I can see PA and WV. Both borders are approx 2 miles from my location. At least I won't have far to run if the Po-lice come after me.
One of my grandsons left this week to spend the summer in Montana with his other grandparents. I fear he will never be the same once he returns.
