Got another dumb question for the group... Everyone who writes about feeding birds says to elevate their feed to chest height (especially difficult when dealing with three different heights)--but my experience has convinced me that an elevated feed tray=a dumped feed tray. What are your thoughts?

Here's a pic of my young guy who's afraid of Sam. He's a year old and looks like he'll be a four pointer this year. According to my tractor guy (yea, I live on 100 acres and don't own a tractor) his father is at least 16 points. His Mom has delivered twins the last two years but didn't show back up after doe season.

My dad is in his early 60s and still hand tosses square bales during haying season. Last year he stacked 6000 bales. He's a beast.

Sorry, I can't help much. All my food dishes go right on the floor but I fill everything with FF every morning. Even with 30 chickens sharing 2 bowls, they never get spilled. Only issue I have is chicks in the brooders kicking shavings in to them lol

Yeah, I prefer elevated when possible, because of all the pine shavings that get kicked in.
