A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Back to small victories... When my son and his family moved in, the baby was six months old. I bought Tyler Florence's cook book and made her baby food. Tonight she went crazy over the fresh squash and cucumbers, she also loved her Brussel sprouts.. And I had one lonely cherry tomato ripe that she devoured. My 11 year old grandson is devouring the remaining cucumber... I love it when kids love veg... :wee:clap:celebrate:highfive::yesss:

That's sooooo funny. I brought my daughter a gallon of fresh raw milk from my local heard share. She was frustrated because her one year old would only drink breast milk... She put the raw milk in his cup and he downed it... And her other kids went crazy over the raw milk. Now she's part of a heard share in her neck of the woods.

There are a couple of places around here and where I can buy cream too to make butter. Best stuff EVER!!

Well, you be careful with those bulls. Even nice ones can be more than a handful. I lost two friends due to a bull attacking them. :(
X2. I've heard terrifying stories from a vet on how unpredictable bulls are.

My neighbour has a brown swiss pair of bulls... They seem gentle enough, but I'm always worried around them. Too many horror stories.

Exactly - and both of these bulls were hand raised and had Never done a single thing wrong - but it only takes once and the person taking them for granted. (sigh)

My husband never met his grandfather because he was gored to death by a Holstein bull on their own dairy. Be careful with bulls!
Also, we drank goats milk from our neighbor when I was little, because my little sister was alergic to regular cow's milk for a while. My mom went next door to milk the neighbor's goats every other day.
I also get fresh raw milk for my kids from a jersey cross up the road, a friend of the family. I've traded turkeys for milk.
Hey, if you want a small dairy cow, I'm in love with miniature Jersey cows! They are the original version of Jersey cow, do cute and docile with SO MUCH CREAM!
