Mr. T was looking pretty after his molt so I figured I would share a pic of him. He is getting to be an old man! 3 1/2 years old

@duluthralphie It finally happened. One of my turkeys did something stupid.

I went out on the back porch to check on the turkeys and all were up in a tree. Tommie Tucker saw me and started talking, so I was talking back.

He must have thought I had food or treats and got excited.

Then promptly fell out of the tree.
















I'm just glad he didn't hurt himself.

He fell about 14 feet and was just a fluff of feathers.

Ok so I picked up Turk to feel the crop. Instantly water poured out of his beak. I massaged his crop and got a lot of the fluid out. Gonna try to get more in the morning. Also he pooped out a flat white worm that was dead. Gonna worm them too.

If that is a crop I do t think it's a healthy one. I have never ever seen a crop look like that. The bird might be healthy but he just has a weird crop. I'd personally cull it because who know what kind of difficulties it may cause in the future. Does he seem like hes thin at all?

If it is water then I would just leave it. In the morning let him eat and see if you can feel any feed in the crop.

So it's dawn & friends & family are already on their way. Forcing me to make them breakfast. Serving chicken & turkey eggs!! Forecast is good. Should be clear for our big event. Althought high humidity and high 90' pedicted. Brought my big kennel fans. Not about to sit out & sweat for hours. Town is swamped. I'm hunkered down in my cabin.

I told/warned everyone Turkeys do stoopid things...This ranks right up there with flying into a tree and getting stuck up there and not knowing how to come back down.

There is a light haze over the mountain and cloud cover to the north but beautiful clear skies here.

I did have to deal with an uninvited guest that has now become part of my soil enrichment program.
