A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Our eclipse watch was pretty much a total bust. It was like a little cloud passed over head, temp went down a couple of degrees, couldn't see any appreciable decrease in daylight and the turkeys were only interested in sitting on the picnic table near me. I was in the 80.66 range but on their revised map, it went down to 60. Oh well. It is more fun getting under the chair.

Why do easterners count both antlers? Is it because sometimes one antler has more points than the other? I was always confused...

Because each "point" is a separate item. That's why people have bagged 9, 13 and even higher point deer.

My uncle hit an 8 point with his car - and had it mounted. He said his car was as much of a weapon as any rifle or bow.

It didn't get much darker here either, just a little but when we were in Oregon for my brother's wedding, we picked up a couple solar viewing glasses for the kids to watch. We took turns looking at it and it was pretty cool. Without the glasses though, I'm guessing it would be hardly noticeable. Turkeys and chickens didn't seem to notice anything. Apparently, my son was trying to catch flies when I took this picture lol.

This is one of those photos that you save until he grows up and has a girlfriend. Then you bring out the "family albums".
:D

The only real difference I saw from a storm and this was that the dux were not happy when totality happened without rain. I think all were reacting to a basic storm. during storms, my chickens and turkeys go to the perch and ducks play. I took a pic of totality and the video/audio in the background are dux pissed about no rain.:celebrate

We had PERFECT viewing for totality! It was even more amazing than I anticipated!
The sky was clear almost up to the totality when some thin cloud cover blew in and it kept getting cloudier right up to the end.

You can see the album here. Some selected shots can be seen here.
