"supplier issues" Sorry, that phrase nailed it. My co-op bailed on me, no longer buying ingredients—yet felt no obligation to tell me. Been working with another mill since, trying to get it worked out. I have high hopes, but have no idea why feed is this hard

That's how I feel... but I found a supplier of good feed that's an hour away and they mill their own feed to order, gmo free, and can specify if you want certain things omitted or higher protein, all local grains. Buuut they didn't have any on hand to buy so had to buy some from the feed store and their selection is seriously lacking. But when have better storage set up and more birds plan to order some in bulk.

yes I usually get feed from a farmer who goes to a mill in INdiana.. they had some issues w/children.. coons getting chickens and processed all the pigs..so just feeding goats... so instead of 12 bags for a month, I asked for 18 bags of chicken grower and she got 6.. so I ordered turkey grower from a mill 75 miles away (closer than where she went) thinking by the time it was milled for me she would be going again for chicken grower... well a month later she went and said they only had 6 bags again...I figured the young freezer birds could eat the turkey... so a month later she did get me 16 bags.. she is the same price as the closest mill and she delivers .. the store by me had feed from april 2016 that cost $10 more a bag and I feed 3 bags a week!

OMG Big Bird!! Poor girl. Feisty, please enter her in the Worst Molt Contest!! I entered Annie, but Big Birds pictures are awesome! Turkey's need to represent!
Daisy is having a slower molt. Like Big Bird, she doesn't want to be touched. Turkey molts must be miserable for them.

My Turkeys have had a relatively easy molt this year, a few missing tails is about all, no real bad ones.

I got almost 5" of heavy white stuff starting yesterday afternoon and finishing up sometime during the night. It got down to 27°F. There are broken branches all over the place. The netting over the main part of the run which is normally 7' off the ground at the low point was down to 3' off the ground. Young trees laying down flat on the ground. There were just too many leaves left on the trees for a heavy wet snow like this. My brush pile is going to more than double in size.

The young turkeys are running around hollering, looking for something familiar.

The snow brought the Russian Olives down to where they were convenient for the turkeys.
