A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

The trailer sounds ideal! Those birds are gonna love the air conditioning and cushy beds. Don't forget to add the big screen!
I'm not sure about a big screen, but they WILL be on camera.
:lau

Told my son tonight that he had to relocate the camper. He asked why? I just looked at him cause I know he knew! He just shook his head....

I also gave him my Christmas list. Mesh wire, staples, feed, and chicken/turkey accessories (waterers/feeders). :love

Wow - the message sent itself!

But exactly, sfg - I don't "need" a Christmas throw, a set of mugs, or a box of candles. I don't need any kitchen appliances (one, I don't have time to cook), a picture frame, or a bottle of wine (wait! maybe the wine would be ok). :wee

But feed, a new set of tools (think fencing tools), a bigger feeder or a water heater thingie - those mean more to me. Besides - that's how I started with chickens and ducks - they were all gifts for Mother's Day.

Now THOSE are meaningful!!!

:thumbsup :love:love:love

Heck yea! This is our first uear home again. My dad had taken all of the fencin down and gotten rid of animals. Now mechanic shop.... all the man and boys coud ever need or want lol! Dad converted the hay barn into his shop. There are a few other buildings here that we have either made use of, have a plan for or torn down to reuse the material in a way we need them for. But other stuffs... yea...

We tell the kids those types of gifts because we really dont want gifts from them. They are all young families so spend it on yours not us. Just come spend an afternoon here, open your gifts we have made for you, eat all our food, go home and we are happy parents. Cause lord forbid if paul and i buy their gifts.... all the whinin and carryin on eesh! Made that mistake ONCE... that was all it took. Lol!

Two of The boys are all about dad makin them a rabbit pelt vest like he is savin pelts for himself.. uhhh boys he has two. Yes two whole pelts for himself right now. You are gonna be lucky if he lets you even pet them! Then there is the one who is always losin his toboggans. Maman i need a new toboggan for christmas i lost mine... again. I think he hides them and just wants a new one every year. The daughter in laws are easy... maman make me socks. My tootsies are cold or i washed mine and they shrunk too much... again.. lies all lies. Lol! They are just spoiled shits!

@sfgwife @memphis

Exactly - There are things I need that I cannot always go out and buy - and sometimes not til I have saved up for that special tool, or a big roll of fencing. Sometimes, being on a limited income sucks big time! Although my kids are pretty accustomed to my weird ways and wants, it is still important to make sure they understand what it is I need. I am Happy over a bag of feed I didn't have to pay for. I am Joyful when they bring me a box of day old peeps. And I will dance all the way to the bank if they buy me that 150 foot of fencing that I WANT. Believe me, it doesn't take a lot to make any holiday one for me to remember. lol

Lol exactly! Ours just look at us all nutty when we say small stuff for here. But it all adds up quickly round here. They asked what i wanted for my birthday and i said go in with mama for our meat birds. They thought me crazy but they did it. :). We have plenty of things and i dont like dustin one lil bit.

We bought that fence.. LOVE it! We used it for our meaties. So when you save up enough do it you wont regret it one bit. Yea it hurt but we can use it for many other things than just twice a year when we do meaties.

Well folks the jury is in. RB is way more flavorful and more tender than either the nari or the bourbon. The only downside to the RB is the amount of fat that it renders, not enough! I roasted an 8 pound bird today and only got like a table spoon of fat.

Yay and oh no! Could you feed it corn for a week or so before the deed to help with the fat maybe? Was the burbon good to eat though? I saw some beautiful young ones today and seriously thought about snatchin em up. About how old was your rb?

Mine eat almost pure corn for 6 weeks prior to the accident.....I want the nice yellow fat..

I don't worry much about their cholesterol or heart diseases.
