Crowing
I keep all the kids in protective shelters until they're 8 weeks old and move the shelters to new grass as they clean up the spot they're on. To move the shelter, I have someone bang on the back to scare them away from that wall and then move it two to three inches. When they see the fresh grass everyone comes to the front of the shelter and chows down. Works great until I get to the end, then I need to persuade them to move forward another two or three inches so I can finish the move.
That was one thing paul loved about his rainbow rangers this go round. He loved that they were easy to move like this unlike the cx who were just a pita for him to move every day. The turkey poults were like that too. It was such a hoot watchin them jumpin at bugs. I love to go watch the ladies and cletis do it of a mornin too. They come out the coop, snarf up their food for a few min, grab a drink then off to their bug huntin grounds in their pen. It is so comical to watch those birds runnin and jumpin at the bugs and the chatterin they always do at each other. Road runner is hilarious! Someone makes the i got a good big fat juicy bug noise and she is like a kid who didnt get the fish... she must run over and see if she can get one or ten in the same spot.... cause it must be the best spot since a sister got the good bugs there right.
