Wow...I just noticed Mr. T's beard! You know, I think this is the first picture of him I've seen of him not displaying.

The beard keeps growing throughout their lifetime but due to the fine "salon" work of the hens many toms never manage to reach the full potential of their beards due to the constant trimming by the girls.do their beards get bigger with age?? do they molt when they molt their feathers??
thank you!The beard keeps growing throughout their lifetime but due to the fine "salon" work of the hens many toms never manage to reach the full potential of their beards due to the constant trimming by the girls.

He's beautiful, holm25. I hope he lives for a long long time. And, here I am still worried about getting Tommie and the others through the first year!Mr. T yesterday... I was taking pictures of chickens and he was just standing around so I took some pics of him too lol! He's getting to be an old guy... I think he is 4-5 years old? I guess he isn't as old as some people's turkeys lol... I saw a lady on Facebook who posted about her 14 year old tom that just died... I hope Mr. T lives that long!
You know I'm past years he has displayed 24/7/365 and lately he hasn't been strutting much and is sleeping in a different spot now... Maybe he is just changing his ways some?Wow...I just noticed Mr. T's beard! You know, I think this is the first picture of him I've seen of him not displaying.
