A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Looks normal to me.

Looks normal to me too. Hate to hear about all the Tom troubles. Tis the season I guess.

Thanks, maybe it’s because I don’t see him up close that often, but he let me put him on my lap today. He certainly seems happy, strutting all day for his girls. He has also begun mating them too, saw him at it twice today!

Our new “king dumbass” buster brown..... i am nearly ready to be off with his head too! He has had many many encounters with boots and sticks and buckets for doin the sneak attacks on both paul and myself. But man i cannot FIND a tom less than a hundred dollars here. Most are wantin one fifty. :/. Even those are few and far between. If we didnt want poults so stinkin much so i could replace his jerky self he would be dun now.. The other night we went to put everyone to bed and there was a pile of white feathers... so it was either his or the lil rp jenny. As we were checkin her over he attacked paul. Thank goodness he doesnt have spurs yet! If he does that nonsense one more time he WILL get the corn diet @duluthralphie is so fond of.... and we will take our chance of findin another maybe at chickenstock here in a few months. Dangit what is it with these boys on this place?!?!?! And we have not hamd fed or been overly friendly with him to make him think we are big turkeys too. Je has been tryin mate the ladies.

Raining yet again. Blah. Expecting close to 4 inches. Tired of the mess.
Still no turkey eggs. Boy are they slacking this year!
Sat down yesterday evening. Daisy hopped into my lap followed by one of my teenage Speckled Sussex. Oh the nerve! You should have seen the look on Daisys face. Once she recovered from the shock of this outregious breach of conduct...She reached over & pecked her on the head quickly eliminating the intrusion. Then she settled down for a nap. I tried questioning her about the lack of eggs...She didn't want to discuss it.

Well finally saw one of my toms mate a hen this morning. It was one of the yearling toms.

He wasn't clumsy or anything. Hen squatted he got on and did his business in less than a min.

Hoping on eggs soon

It always looks clumsy to me! Hopefully my young Tom will get better with practice! He is certainly better than my old fat one. I am glad I rehomed him.

It is my experience that the good breeding toms start out that way. The ones that don't start out good typically never get good.

Pebbles gave me a scare tonight. I left a few of the girls out to free range this evening since it was the last nice day that we're supposed to have. It was starting to rain so I went out to gather them up and I couldn't find Pebbles anywhere. I walked ALL over the yard, looking everywhere. I finally found her, emerging from a stick pile in the woods. I guess she decided that it's time for her to start laying so she found herself a nest outside lol. I thought I had lost her.
