I re-candled my eggs and can see movement/developing blobs in 28 of the eggs. One *almost* looks like there’s two dark eye spots so we’ll see what happens there. Some of my eggs were about 13 days old when I put them in and they’re doing fine too!

Been incubating for 2 weeks today so here’s to hoping they all do well for another 2!

2 hatched. The 3rd one hatched but abdomen was distended so had to cull. Both narri.

I'm letting 2 broodys try some eggs.

Anybody have one of those d***it moments?

Been expecting my turkeys to lay for quite some time, and I finally found one of the hidden nests. I retrieved the eggs and headed inside to put them in an incubator... Dropped the bucket on the way to the house. 8 turkey eggs ruined and 2 so cracked that they probably will not hatch. Phooey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

( on the bright side, one of the other hens is nicely sitting on her clutch of 12-14 eggs, so it's not a total loss...)

3 days the RP hen has been in the cage/pen/tractor. She completely ignored the 4 eggs I gave her to hatch. She ate very little drank very little.

She refused to sleep. she paced back and forth and gave me stink eye for the entire time.

She ate some today and seemed to calm down. I let her out, ran her back to the Covent. I came back 2 hours later, she is back in the nest. Playing pancake and hissing at me. I lifted her out, took an egg out from under her. Set her back down.

She hissed and played pancake again....




3 more days in the cage starting at dusk.

I think all my broody turkeys are broken, now if they could start giving me more eggs. I got 3 yesterday and it was like a miracle!

I'm doing an experiment. I've been letting my 2 penciled and one bourbon poults out with the flock for a few hours at the time. Today, I left them out and I left. They should be ok
Hopefully there are no issues before I get back home.

Tonighht when we went to put everyone abed son the young wanted looksee if we had any bug eyed babies... we have two so far! One was out and very dry and the other was poppin out his shell when we peeked. The ladies were jus a cooin at their new babies.
