Ablyn lets me show off his shiney feathers for friends! And then I push him off the deck because he's always pooping on it!

Ablyn and Pebbles need to get together!

I was just thinking how much his feathers remind me of Pebbles! I could handle a tom if they were nice guys like Ablyn or Romeo. Mr. T is another...or the infamous JJ.

Any change with Pirate??

Annie has been laying an early evening egg lately. So Daisy & I take a stroll while she's in the nest box. But as soon as she's done she comes screaming & flapping down the driveway. She looks crazed until she spies us. Funny, funny birds....

One of my hens, same one, tries to be broody... problem is it’s usually after I’ve collected eggs and she just gets hissy defensive of nothing or some poop piles. Or today I hadn’t collected eggs and there are 3 eggs 2” from her tail feathers and she’s hissing at me, I make her move and she’s sitting on poop. It’s weird but usually she’s given up after a day or two....

She seems more alert this evening but she still has very little balance. I managed to get her to eat about 1 egg. At first she take a couple eager bites then start to fall asleep. This evening, there's much less of the falling asleep but she's still not eating much. I'm continuing the country in her water and giving her two sub-Q shots of tylan 50. I just gave her the second shot about a half hour ago. I'm thinking she has a bacterial infection in her gut and with all the rain and wetness, possibly cocci on top of it. We'll see how this goes. As long as she keeps nibbling on food and sipping her water, there's Hope.

I agree...glad she's eating something! The off balance thing makes me wonder if she may have a sinus infection. I'm only saying that due to being terribly off balance myself when I had one. But usually they have swelling about the face. Doesn't sound like she has that.

PolarBerry...I have no words....but the image of her preferring poop piles to eggs made me laugh!!

I got tired of her hissing over caca babies so I dumped some water on her and she proceeded to sprint off to the other hens outside and probably tell them how much of a meanie I am.

Also, my chickens are evil to each other... 4 week age difference and having trouble with them getting along. Told the bully hen I’d let my tom have a date with her if she didn’t start behaving... he mounts everything.

Had to move the poults in the brooder tub into the master bathroom and they like to watch everything.... creepy turklets
