A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

LOL!!! Sfgwife.....my girls thoughts exactly!

Big sister is THE worst here right now. She wants the treats and cool water her way and now. She has also assumed the roll of tom since jerkface left the joint..... hollarin at every single lil thing that may be a threat. And she is loud. Really loud. These lil turks need grow up already and gobble so may e she would realize there is a tom or five in the bunch. Hahah. I am pretty sure there are at least three. They have cock fights in the ring daily and strut their goods for everyone to see. Even though i know hens will strut.. these are at it all.the.time.nearly. She makes the dive for cover noise and poof Nine inch man turks to the rescue. Lol!

anyone know why they do these things?Assuming the puffing means male.

Obviously their attacking my buffs, but why?At first I thought it wa s breeding.
they are establishing 'pecking order' . both sexes will strut and try to establish dominance at that age.
if the one poult keeps after that buff, and the buff has nowhere to run to get away from the poult, you may end up with an injured buff... sometimes one is a bully and needs a timeout from the flock.

What's the protein level of your feed? At this age you should have at least 18%.

ETA: Keep a close eye on it. Generally, when the chicken runs away the turkey will lose interest and go back to what ever they were into before it started, but in your instance the turkey pursued the chicken.

They stopped and had a cuddle time, seems to have calmed down.So no for sure of sex?
Their on all flock chick starter and medicated chick starter, and occasionally get into adult all flock feed. Also find bugs and etc. They have been pecking at the buffs, almost as if their nit picking at them, not any hard pecks, maybe their trying to eat the feathers or help them preen?
