A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

They stopped and had a cuddle time, seems to have calmed down.So no for sure of sex?
Their on all flock chick starter and medicated chick starter, and occasionally get into adult all flock feed. Also find bugs and etc. They have been pecking at the buffs, almost as if their nit picking at them, not any hard pecks, maybe their trying to eat the feathers or help them preen?

The protein will be on the label. I have not seen one bird tryin help another preen. I agree with rjohns... peckin order but maybe the bully needs time out for a bit. Or try puttin only turks together without the chickens and see if it continues.

What's the protein level of your feed? At this age you should have at least 18%.

ETA: Keep a close eye on it. Generally, when the chicken runs away the turkey will lose interest and go back to what ever they were into before it started, but in your instance the turkey pursued the chicken.

I am unsure what age, but I stay with 28% protein for 8 weeks then 22% for a couple months. Or let them eat bugs . A turkey needs more protein than a chick starter grower can give them.

I have a hard time finding a good 28% starter but there is a place about 40 miles from here I go to get mine. Nope, it is not cheap.

If you plan to butcher them in the fall you might be okay on less. If you plan to keep and breed them you really need the protein.

I definitely want them as pets.Maybe a showbird feed would be a good idea to add along to them, their feathers are not in He best condition, assuming because they were all stuck in a small cage.

Also,I planned on raising these birds outside, who else does this? They will live in a dog cage and will have their own Seperate pen till Decemberor January when things get really cold.Heard their pretty hardy so they may not even get to come in the coop, although I’m sure they get frostbite and don’t need any naked faces walking around here.My geese that I use to have stayed in 0 below weather.

What part of the country/world are you in? Mine live outside inside an electric fence. Too many to house indoors. The electric fence keeps out furry predators and they keep out flying predators. Ralphie can give you best advice for really cold climate conditions...

I live in Missouri. Its cage fairly predator proof considering I have never had an issue with preds accept for foxes and hawks and owls, which only attack during the day,and birds cannot get in our out of the cage most definitely. On top of that I have a huge German Shepherd who sleeps outside and urinates all over,as well as we do to keep preds away.Never worried about predators, just weather usually.

If memory serves your weather is a lot like mine... And unless we get a really bad cold spell, mine stay outside.

A dog cage is not an appropriate "coop" for turkeys. I consider 10 sq. ft. of clear area a minimum for coop space per adult turkey. They need even more space for their run along with places to roost.

As far as turkeys go, Missouri does not get cold enough to bother adult turkeys. But the turkeys do need somewhere to get out of the weather. They need shade and they need protection from the prevailing wind. They also need a roof they can get under to get out of the rain.
