This picture. Yes the breed standard is only black and white but also calls for banded tail coverts. Nobody that I have seen has royal palms with banded coverts except this bad boy. I've been talking with Kevin about how to try and get back into royal palms.
Nope, not mine. That tom has a leg band and I have never leg banded a Royal Palm tom.

This is one of the toms from last year.

Hmmm. I got super excited for a minute :( nonetheless gorgeous birds!! Looks like some wing covert banding and maybe those outer left fan coverts have some banding. Do I see some slight speckle spots on the outer left main fan?

Round two of eggs are in lockdown tonight. Think I heard a few internally pipping already.

I tried canning strawberry jam today and it was much more liquidy than expected and even with extra reducing and pectin it wouldn’t gel fully after canning... and of course all the stores are out of pectin. My old cook top can’t get the jam to 220 for a no-pectin gelling :(

Just save it anyway and use it as strawberry syrup for ice cream or strawberry milk maybe.

I have poults due tomorrow (which means there will be some hatching today lol). I was 1 day late moving them to lockdown so of course, there were about 4 already pipped. I have 2 more weeks before another hatch. It'll be a big one. It'll be turkey poults, shipped brahma eggs, and whatever developed of a friend's 3 dozen eggs. At least I know that those chicks go right back to my friend though lol. The week after that will be my last hatch for the season. It'll be turkey poults and peafowl (if any developed).

Sometimes instead of addin more pectin i just boil it longer. My strawberry jam and blueberry lemon has been grumpy like that the last few years. I just put it down to livin in fl at the time and the humid.
