A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Its two poults. Its her first time and having a hard go at it. One I found with its intestines hanging out. These two must not have absorbed the yolk. This was the first time I got my hands on them from her. I should have checked earlier but she is skiddish. One only has a small hole and I think the maggots are out. The other is much worse. And I think its to late for it. I'm having horrible luck with broody turkeys. From 3 girls I'm going to be down to two surviving babies if these die. Hopefully its just first time mom issues.
:hugs it's hard but you will know when to cull

I had heard turkeys were hard to raise and turkey moms were not the best.. I gave eggs to the broody chickens.

I'm sorry @yoopergirl1211 :( I hope they can be saved. I'm the one that always tries my hardest to save them, even if I should cull. I'm weak when it comes to that. I would take them from Mom though and move them to a brooder. I don't trust my turkeys to be good moms on their own. Right now, I'm allowing 3 hens to raise 2 poults. All together they're doing a good job, but individually, I wouldn't trust them.

Hopefully they pull through!

I’m hoping out of my 3 broody hens and 25 eggs in the incubator I get some more poults... there’s about 2.5 weeks left for the one momma hen and 3ish for the other to know... I think across the 3 hens they’re rotating-brooding about 10 eggs.

Went out this morning and her two healthy babies are gone. I'm switching to incubator for turkeys. The only one that's being a good mom is the one that had guinea eggs under her. And she only managed to hatch two.
