A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Mastiff puppy? Lotta dog! Friend of mine here raises some lovely Mastiffs. I've shown them a few times for her when she got hung up at dog shows. They are really sweet.

Yooper....tough little guy!! You may have to keep it company until the wound heals more. I'd hesitate to put a chick with it.

Poor Annie...shes been laying an evening egg. Meaning, she wants to come out for a walk, but the urge hits her & she goes running down the driveway to her nest box. Complaining the whole way. I swear she can run while holding her legs together. Such drama! Daisy of course could care less & wants to continue grazing. Funny how many cars stop & ask what happened to the red turkey! When I tell them shes in her nest laying an egg it always elicits a smile & an "awww"! Just interesting how many notice shes missing.

The little guy is still doing okay. I'm just shocked. Will he be okay alone. I have over 100 week old chicks I could put one in but if it sees the hole in its belly it probably wont end well.

I agree with Memphis. Adding another chick for company would be a bad I until the hole is pretty much healed up. You could add a stuffed animal and a small mirror to help him to not feel so alone.

Glad he's still hanging in there Yooper! Tough little guy! You realize they like company and can bond strongly with humans. If he continues to improve, this may be your chance to start lapper training!! Keep my fingers crossed.

Yooper, here is my professional lapper, Daisy. Hops in my lap & takes a nap. Comes in handy on cold days. On hot days we require a fan.

My lil sweetgrass turd... has been layin she eggs in the compost pile of hay that we keep in their pen. All it is is the hay and daily poop deposits from them and the goaties. But dang lady you KNOW where you BEEN layin why do you feel the need for a new outside spot? ;/. Silly bird. Found three of her eggs this mornin. No wonder why i haven’t gotten a sg egg in four days eh.... t. U. R. D. And somethin had eaten them to boot. Sheesh.

My chickens been runnin throughh me garden right past all the yummies in there to get to the compost pile we keep over this way. In two days they have taken bout half of it out. Paul gonna need pull it up with the tractor soon and give it sides i guess. It was just a pile back there nothin more. But now that the no pile can stand demons have found it.

It's amazing how quickly birds can decimate a compost pile. Mine was about 5' tall and 5'X8' The turkeys found it first followed, of course, by the chickens. They spread it flat, turned it, tilled it, and added more fertilizer... So I opened the area to the hogs so they could deep till it. Gonna plan corn and sunflowers there in the spring.

Does anyone remember who wrote the article on how to save eggs longer than 14 days to hatch? I need to hatch more hollands, but will need to save eggs longer...
