Speaking of the hose....Daisy had to play in it. Got drenched, proceeded to the dust bath spa & ended up a mess. Then she had the nerve to come over looking for a lap nap. Really bird?

Thanks... I've never seen a wild with that coloring and was grasping for thoughts on how...If a bronze tom breeds a Narragansett hen, all of the offspring will be bronze with the hens being pure bronze and the toms being bronze with a hidden Narragansett gene. One of those toms could produce pure Narragansett hens through breeding with either a bronze hen or a Narragansett hen. Such a hen would be a pure Narragansett hen and look like a Narragansett hen.
If the hen in your photos had a Narragansett gene, she would look like a Narragansett hen which in my opinion she does not. Many wild turkeys carry hidden recessive color genes that sometimes do show up. I doubt that the hen in your photos has anything to do with the Narragansett gene.
No sfgwife...much to her disappoint, I did not let that goopy mess of a bird in my lap. I did put her on one of the dog grooming tables & wash her off!
My turkey teens got me in trouble last night.
The stupid birds decided to roost on the frame for the awning we have on our deck...
It was too late/dark for me to move then once I saw them on it. They would have scattered and been on the ground where every nasty furbearing critter could have taken a bite out of them.
I told them they had to be good and remain silent all night or an owl would make dinner out of them. They stayed silent, and all survived the night, but they were not good.
Somehow, their pooping on the deck the wicker furniture and the tables is my fault and I received a nasty tongue lashing from the WWD this morning.
Hopefully, they will decide to go under cover tonight.
