BTW you cannot imagine the shock when I lifted the lid and found her body! I said a couple "what the hecks" And "How the heck did that happen?" However, I did not say heck. That was an editorial word substitution to save the innocent from reading the real word I used.

Hoover was in the vicinity and is a likely suspect, however to open the lid and close it he must have had an accomplice to carry the ladder and return it.

What happened to the owl? Did it manage to escape unscathed per federal regulations? Or did it fail to see where it was flying and run into a tree or wire and suffer fatal injuries as so often happens?
