I remember the tale now of the turkey that defeated the evil owl and munched on the owl for a light snack........Stupid owl and brave turkey!

I hope the rungs that are missing are from the top half of the ladder. Climbing a ladder with all the rungs is simply no challenge. While rungs missing from the top can add to the sense of adventure one gets climbing to new heights.

Please check with your home owners insurance before climbing as some insurance companies are anti- climbing or anti-missing rungs.

Ugg! Raining like crazy and only 37. Just miserable. Not letting my birds out. Just to cold to let them get soaked. They are not happy.

It's not too cold here, but I do anticipate scrambled eggs if the turkeys decide to lay any.... lol
We would gladly take any excess moisture you would like to send our way.

stop on by, bring a truck, you can haul away as much snow as you can find here......I am sure if you wait a few weeks we will have even more for you to haul out.

The last snow we got I used a broom to clear the parking lot....and it melted by noon.

I've been pretty much locked in the house all day with a bored coonhound. Mid 30's and pouring rain. Little worried we may get ice...so just hanging out with the hound. Made the birds stay in their covered runs. So they are having a great day too....

So it was confirmed this morning at 5:45 that the Turkey alert system does in fact work even 2 days in a row! It is suspected to be the same owl, it did try out a different enclosure but was unsuccessful in attaining a meal. Luckily the attending human had the foresight to install overhead wire thus preventing a massacre of the smaller turkeys in residence. The residents only suffered minor scratches where in a panic they attempted to exit the secure facilities through the surrounding wire and or wooden dividers.... no lasting damage seems to have been done.
