A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

This would be assuming they actually read or care...most CL people around here don't. All they seem to care about is they can get 50 cent chicks with the purchase of a sack of feed.....
something for nothing... right that is the idea most around here have..... then when its winter they want someone to come and rescue their poor, sick flock because they cant afford the feed bill, oh and they are not laying.

I was hoping to find someone to share a flock with...They get them Oct 15th to May 15th...I get them the rest the year.

I've been involved with dogs for over 30 years. I have some of th he top performance dogs in the states & Canada. I breed maybe one litter a year. I decided early on it was a hobby. Not something I'd ever make money on. I always felt if I needed to sell a puppy because I needed the money...it would put the joy of my hobby into a different category. It's great to make up for some of the expenses, like showing. But like most craft people (especially the fiber arts like quilting) you never really make up for the time you put in.

I agree. I love my birds and that is why I do this, for my enjoyment not someone else's. I have zero illusions of making money the way I am doing things. On a lighter note

Sounds like it's a good thing I don't live any closer....I don't need any more enablers in my life... how do you think I ended up with so many turkeys this year? A guy I know just decided to "gift" me all his chickens and turkeys..... he couldn't afford to feed them. I have a bad feeling he will expect me to provide him with fresh layers in the spring....... people:he:rant:duc

Alicia...loving those baby pics! Keep 'em coming!

That's why my girls live in a convent. I'd be up to my eyeballs with turkeys if I hatched babies. I just like turkeys. It's bad enough selling a puppy. I can't imagine the discussion selling a turkey. Of course asking for a vet reference would eliminate most!!

Speaking of my girls... no eggs yet. Slackers!
