A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

My dad died from Lewy Bodies. It was awful. Gentlest man I’ve ever known, but he came at me with an axe toward the end. Who knows what he thought I was? I took it away—not difficult, but still... After that he went to the hospital, then a nursing home. He died a couple weeks later. I know it’s hard, but try not to explode at her. You’ll feel better later if you don’t... trust me on that one. My mom is dying from Alzheimer’s. I don’t know which is less bad; they’re both horrible. She can be really hateful, too. (Not unusual with Alzheimer’s) It’s so hard to deal with it when someone you love treats you like dirt, even though you know it’s just their brain malfunctioning.

As to the dog, I would deal with it when she can’t see. Maybe your husband can take care of it when you take her to the dentist. Tell her whatever you like... the dog catcher came and impounded it and had it put down. whatever. It doesn’t matter so long as she’s not mad at you guys (not that you can stop her from that if she decides to be.) A dog like that is dangerous enough if the owner knows to keep it in, let alone in your situation. You really do HAVE to deal with the dog. Someone will get hurt, possibly badly hurt.

I’m so sorry you have this to deal with. Definitely not fun.

I dont blow up at her. When i have had absolutely all i can take i walk out to do some random thing. How long after his dx did you have with him? We have read so many different things. A new thing... every time she gets jus a tinny bit of fever or dehydrated she gets the massive crazies and horrible hallucinations. That is hard. We will deal with the dog jus not the way she said. :). Thanks!

He's a looker! Afraid my girls wouldn't let him get 5 feet into the yard before they'd start fawning over him. They'd be smitten!
Are your girls easily impressed by the showy types?

Mine are into the down to earth types. It appears my main breeder is my blue slate (3 year old).... He has nearly no feathers on his breast and belly. He looks funny when he runs towards me know. It is like a big old beer belly swaying side to side and jiggling with each step.

On another front, I need your help! Please call the WW and tell her my babies are too young to go outside. I have my 3 babies in the basement still ( well actually I have more than 3, but these three have upset someone around here) and am catching unholy H for it.... She thinks they are big enough to be outside.

I disagree they are only a little of 14 inches tall and they come running to me when I bring them feed....So I think they need to remain house birds.....

LOL! Love the image of the big swaying beer belly turkey!
Your getting a snow bomb! Those babies aren't acclimated to weather like that! They obviously need to stay in their protected environment until the weather warms up! Can you wrap them up in towels like little babies & bring them up to watch tv? Surely she'd help in lapper training! A sweet turkey asleep in her lap will melt her heart!!
