A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

We really need Ralphie to look at it. It's kind of doing what the last one did, get's pinned in the middle and then starts to rotate. This one makes me nervous as if the tail comes up to me, it will come in from the south, not a direction I ever want to see a windy storm come from. This morning it was a straight line from west Texas to the great lakes. it's no longer a straight line. If I get what's left after it get's done dumping on Memphis it won't be much.

I hear ya on the comin from the south... those are always nasty pieces of work. I been outside workin most of the day and havent seen news yet.

I just glanced at the radar. I don’t have charts to look at.. and too lazy to dig..

But this one looks like it could be the real deal and not the normal weather dork rating crap...

Looks like a high over Carolinas and central plains could have low or dipped jet stream... means there is a trough from just west of Nashville pulling a ton of warm wet air from the gulf... melting snow up here rushing to you...

That trough ... the colder damp northern air.. warm moist southern..

I would be careful if I were you . I have not looked but assume you have flash flood warnings in effect, tornadoes tonight?

Good luck...(I feel like I am teaching again)

Be safe

We have a wild tom hanging out outside our turkey enclosure. He and my tom Dumpling keep displaying constantly, the girls don't seem that interested in the wild tom, but can't get to him even if they were. How long do you think the wild tom will hang around?

I got to within 5 feet of him yesterday. His tail looks better than my tom's, but he's smaller. He also has a beard that's pretty long.

Looks like he is about a two year old based on his spurs. He is most likely not the dominant tom in the area and is not likely to leave on his own. My recommendation is to contact your local game warden and ask his recommendations. A fellow BYC member had a young tom move into her place. The tom ended up killing at least one of her chickens. Fortunately her local game warden permitted her to capture the tom and release him in an area with other wild turkeys.

Currently the thunder is so loud its setting off car alarms. Its rocking & rolling here. On the 24th floor of our office building watching the lightning strikes.

That would be an awesome view of the storm but wow, that's some intense thunder!

Tornado alerts, flooding alerts....just a mess.

Start safe down there! I love a good storm but not when they threaten danger.

I think it's coming to us next. We have an alert for strong thunderstorms and possible flooding tomorrow.

Rotten brat! Every morning in the ameraucana/turkey grow out pen, this little palm will sneak up behind me if I'm not paying attention and jump up and my back and up to my shoulder. Always after stepping in mud!

She's taking lessons from this super sweet ameraucana though on acceptable ways to get attention

This am only started being affectionate a couple weeks ago, just out of the blue. She can't wait to get snuggles in the morning! The little silkie feathered ones are her babies though she didn't them. They became as snuggly as she is when I moved them in to that pen the other day. Before then, they ran from me lol
