We have the big black rat snakes up here. The most I've ever seen happen is the chickens surround one clucking at it curiously until it slithered away lol

yeah my chicken have slurped up every baby snake the last few years. When I first moved in, I had fence lizards and lots of garter snakes. Since I got turkeys, I have no fence lizards and have not seen a garter snake here in over 20 years. I usually see one bull snake come through every year and maybe a hog-nosed snake every couple of years.
Cute and snake are an oxymoron.Speaking of snakes, I saw one I've never seen before, nor my dad. It's a bit out of it's natural range, but not rare or anything. I saw a Smooth Green snake, a juvenile. It was hibernating under our brush pile that we were moving to burn, it nearly got stepped on! It was a cute little shy guy.
Small dead green snakes eat nothing!!!!Smooth Green snakes are so small all they eat is large insects mostly and crawdads, hoppers and the like.
So you’re warped too? I never knew.I really like those little red belly racer snakes lol. They're so little! I haven't found one to show my kids yet though.
