A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Cynthia and the Marauders! It could be a Rock & Roll group! I'm sure its frustrating...but it's kind of cool! Turkey see, turkey do...
I agree R2elk...would we do without our Chief Poop Inspector.
I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve. Get to go pick out my new turkeys tomorrow. Big day for me & Daisy. Y'all realize I've never had poults. I've always had mature ladies. I'm looking forward to young ones. Neighbors are aware new babies are coming. They are all a twitter. Young ones will be in seclusion for awhile. No roaming the neighborhood until they are older. Neighbors still wanting to sneak a peak. When someone has a "human" baby around here, its cause for excitement. Didnt realize baby turkeys would cause the same reaction. Lots of anticipation.

OMG Aurora! I bet she will!
Funny thing about the neighbors. Half of which I'm not sure where they live! We get walkers from other streets too. They do like the turkeys. What's not to like? Big fluffy sweet huggable birds. I think they are just amused having turkeys in the neighborhood. Many have chickens. Most never met a turkey before. All the kids love them...

Just how long do you think you can keep Daisy from stealing them from you?

When I took yesterday's poult out of the hatcher, there were still two eggs left. I kept planning on candling them before disposing of them but just never got around to doing anything. This morning when I walked by the hatcher and glanced in, there was only one egg in sight. Yep, another Sweetgrass poult is running around in the incubator.

@memphis glad you found a breeder close. Good luck with your new poults.

@R2elk sounds like your having good luck with the sweetgrass.

My hatching turkeys needs about 2 more weeks. Have 2 broodies on 17 eggs.
Did hatch 8 pheasants last night out of 11 eggs. They are my nemesis.

Flooding is continuing to get worse. River expected to Crest at over 32 feet. Several levees have have created or failed. Basically living on an island. Can still get out of county on blacktops thru the hills. My 17 mile run to work has now turned into almost a 100. But for the time being no water around my house.
