Indeed it is. I switched to screws for most stuff because they hold better and longer than nails and using the drill does not cause my hands to go numb like constant hammering does. For oak, a pilot hole and soap does wonders whether using nails or screws.

I totally agree on the pilot hole and I used oil and 4" nailsl! I would have used screws on part of it except I could not find my box of 3" screws. So, had no choice but to use nails. Then found out my son used the screws to build a set of steps for his camper last weekend - and then took the rest with him.


I'm really paying for it today though - rotator cuff problems rare not fun.

@Auroradream26 I may need to enlist in the help of your R&D team in crafting and costume building department. Our county 4H is throwing around the idea of a chicken costume contest. Both the exhibitor and the chicken are dressed in coordinating costumes. Ummmmm this could be interesting.

As for the tool debate.....I just call the facilities manager....when he is unavailable I call upon the facilities manager's son. The facilities manager's son calls me Mom and I remind him that I brought him into this world and until he is 18 I can control which sports and activities I drive him to. I normally get what I want in a fairly easy to manage timeframe.

I think my air hammers are heavier than my battery operated ones...

I even use a battery operated circle saw it is lighter and faster than my corded ones.

I will definitely check them out. I do hate hauling around the air compressor.... I hate hammering more, tho!
