A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

I set 18 turkey eggs last night. Its a little later than usual for me this year lol. I'll still have poults in January though :) It's just been so busy around here lately with school prep for DH, the holidays and me working. There's hardly any time!

Good luck, I hope you have a great hatch when the time comes!

10 turkey babies running around the brooder with 2 little chickies...

I tried my hand at turkey saddles.... ummm not a complete failure but still some learning to do. I bought one from one mountain acres wow it fit perfectly! But my versions seem to be a little wide across the shoulders? I will keep practicing. In the meantime my girls think I am nuts! Lol oh well.
16 turkey eggs due this next weekend and 6 chickie eggs

I'm starting to collect for hatching turkeys. Problem is, haven't witnessed any business from the tom end of things! I see hens squatting, but the tri colored blue dude, dh named him Slater, he seems a bit intimidated by Miss Fatty. I saw him almost go once, until she turned around and looked at him just as he started treading. That was enough for him to back off! I just hope to get some poults from her for the fair! I'm crossing my fingers

The front finally came through & the weather has cooled off. Thankfully the sun is out!
Found the girls all sprawled out in the sun. Sunbathing was their main priority yesterday. They decided to bath in the path through my garden. A single line of hens down the path. It was funny looking. Tried to get a picture, but that didn't work. Each one was on their side with wings & legs everywhere. Necks extended, eyes closed, just dozing in the sun. They sure were enjoying themselves!

They don't look bad! Keep trying! It takes a lot of trial and error to find that perfect sizing :)
