A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

If you ever decide to go to Yellowstone park, go via the Beartooth Highway. You won't regret it, I promise.
Just make sure if you do go, it's in summer. The highway doesn't open until late may due to snowpack but it's clear by June, usually.
The first time I drove the Beartooth was in summer--not summer enough. It's a scary enough drive without all the snow in the air. Beautiful though, what I could see of it. I've been there since, but it wasn't nearly as, um, exciting...

Sounds like a couple of the passes near us. We live just to the north of red mountain, it goes between ouray and Silverton Colorado its carved straight into the cliff face. So one side is straight down with no guard rails and the other is straight up! Hundreds or thousands of feet either up or down. Whew! My grandfather used to run the snow plow over it in the 70's and 80's most folks will not drive it in the summer let alone bad weather. Beautiful drive!

Some of those CO mountain roads are literally BREATHTAKING. :lau I once turned back on one even though it was technically open. I was pathetically grateful for the chance to do it, too.

Beartooth is like that, but both sides are distinctly lacking in real estate. Lots of airspace, pretty much everywhere except directly under your wheels. (Which, to be fair, is technically the only place you need ground, but...) If you're addicted to that high altitude feeling, Beartooth is hard to beat.

I have a commercial pilots license with thousands of hours flying.. I have taught aerobatics. Tailspin’s were my speciality..

I am afraid of heights... actually afraid of falling..
No way in H-e double hockey sticks I am driving that road... or riding on it.

I thought I was going to die when I went to the top of the Bass Pro Shop in Memphis..... in case you have never been there... some nut job architect decided to put a thin glass floor outside 5,090 ft in the air for people to enjoy the view...

They should sell depends before you get on the elevator..

When did you go there? I wanna go! Dam you!
I heard they were gonna close that down for some reason.
Maybe too many people forgot their depends?
We were thinking of going there when we went to visit Lisa but it was out of the way to her place.

I'm not usually afraid of heights (though I have had a couple of dizzy moments), but I'm mildly horrified that an architect would think glass less than a yard thick was an appropriate material for a floor like that. Or was it some kind of clear polymer? I would totally like to see that, all the same!
