Anytime Daisy lands on her lap, the others will immediately scatter.
That's true! I'm amazed that Daisy allowed Marigold on her lap at all!

She needs a manicure and spa dayMarigold jumped into my lap! I'm excited she's becoming a lapper. But there is room for improvement! She wacked me in the face with a wing. She landed like a ton of bricks. Then just stood there with her claws sinking into my legs.
My guess is Calico but it is just a guess.Hi Everyone! Took me an hour just to catch up!
It has been busy here for a number of reasons, including those storms. I feel for Nashville. RJohns, glad you are ok!
The storm woke me up and this old mobile home was dancing to Taylor Smith's "Shake It Off". It did have me wondering for a bit because it was LOUD and I really do not like watching this place breathe in and breathe out. However, other than the power going out multiple times, my biggest problems were cages being moved 20-30 feet uphill - along with empty trashcans that I had stacked (and that I had loaded them with cinderblocks inside). My brother heard on the news that Hancock MD had 68mph winds. My weather station said 70mph the one chance I had to look. I am SOOOO surprised no trees came down on my place, but did have lots of trees and power lines down all around me.
I lost a ferret a few days after (4 days ago?) The first one I have lost for at least 3 years. Cleo only weighed about a pound and was very tiny. She was also over 7 years old and had adrenal disease, so she did pretty well considering she came to me as a rescued and abused ferret 6 years ago. Now I am down to only 7 ferrets.
There have also been other more serious events going on. My youngest DD found a mass in her abdomen and will have to have surgery in the very near future. Even after a contrast CT scan and a sonogram, the doctors are still not sure what it is. This will be a day to day thing until we know.
I also bought a lightweight net and put it over my big run. It took my 17 yr old grandson and me two days to get it up. I have never hated grapevines so much! The net is a 50' x 50' and it covered the entire new run and goes completely overtop the old coop, the camper, and half of the chicken shed. So it appears my run is approximately 42 feet within a foot or two in both directions. Odd shaped, so kinda hard to tell.
I have another net same size that I want to put over the garden and my "temp run", but at least that one doesn't have grapevines growing everywhere or any trees. That should make it much simpler to do. Now, I just need to get a dozen more 10-foot t-posts. My square footage will be between 5,000 and 6,000 - that should be more than enough for the 40 or so birds I have right now - and then some. So far my headcount is 8 turkeys, 2 ducks, and the rest are 22 hens (2 old) and 8 roosters. Right now I am averaging 90 plus eggs a week, but I guess the other birds will soon start laying.
Someone also offered to give me a turkey - I only have a picture at this point. Any guesses?

My Midget Whites seem to be doing really well. The toms stay close to me but I did not try to make them into lappers. The two hens are a different story. They will either sit in my lap or next to me - and as long as I pet them, they are fine. Otherwise, they attack my fingers - I guess because I am not petting them enough.
