Nasty turkey girls get everything I can grab stacked on top of them until they get tired of it and leave.


Also miss blind lady Sparrow got a pen upgrade and also a dust bathing pool and she is pretty stoked about it. On the days when its too cold to go outside and I dont wanna temp shock her going from like 70 degrees ind.oor to like 20 outdoor lol

Turkey hatching season is ramping up for me. Got 8 eggs today, bumped up from the average of 4 a day I’ve been getting for at least a month or two. I have a total of 13 hens, so it’ll be chaos once they’re all laying. I’m getting eggs from my white hollands, chocolates, spanish blacks and slates right now. Oh yes, and the calico/BBB mixes my father is hatching.
Ive also got poults hatching, 4 so far from the ones hatching today/tomorrow, then at least 40 more that are going to hatch within the next month.

this is the calico/BBB mix. It hatched out fat and it is hilarious.

Yesterday I was able to clean and disinfect all my outdoor dog boxes used for nesting, added fresh straw and a dummy egg. All are ready to go, and the hens checking them all out right away. While I was doing that seen about 6 hens getting breed, I expect to see eggs anytime now. Still need to get the indoor shed nest areas and large shed brooder cleaned and disinfected tomorrow and everything will be ready for all the spring fun.

oh no trust me, he's trying! but she is not quite yet ready enough to be fully bred, she walks off when he steps on her tail lol. she always does this at the beginning of breeding season! also for some reason he's not very fond of any of the 3 younger girls quite honestly, not like he is with his older girls.

My egg numbers have dropped off. I don't know if they're taking a little break or if I have an egg eater. I was dealing with a couple chickens that were eating eggs like crazy. They've been seperated but I haven't seen any turkeys eating them. They better not be!
