A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

I found the hen from Porter crammed into a chicken nest box. She did not cooperate so no picture.

She did drop the first turkey egg of the year.

I have chicken eggs bigger than this.

Also looks a little pores, my young hen that laid the first egg of the year was also small and very pointed took her a bit to get the bugs out. Her and another hen is broody already earliest I had hens go broody. One is not fully committed yet but the other looks like she is having been sitting since yesterday. I'll let them both get fully committed for sure and give them both a clutch of fresh eggs in a day or two.

I have a broody already too. She's been gathering eggs ecru day in the corner of the coop and I've been taking them every evening lol. She's about 2 years old or so and this is the first time she's ever shown any interest in brooding

I have been leaving 4 or 5 marked eggs in each of the nests that they are sitting and collecting any new eggs each morning and evening until I know they are fully committed to sitting full time. Looks like they are they were now both on their nests all day yesterday and on there this morning. I will give it another day or so to be sure then give them each a dozen fresh eggs to incubate/hatch. Do you let any of your hens hatch for you?

I rarely let them hatch. I'll give them a couple babies if they stay sitting long enough though, just to satisfy their desires.
