Reading about the genetics of the painted turkey was truly fascinating! A whole new allele!

How easy or difficult is it to hatch turkey eggs? Special tips?
I won’t hatch turkeys until years in the future but I’m just curious because I found ducks more difficult to hatch than chickens and geese impossible.

Turkey and guinea eggs are no more difficult to hatch than chicken eggs.

Shipped eggs can be problematic. Seems that the larger the eggs are, the worse they handle shipping.

Do you all do anything to keep wild toms from making “visitations” to your hens or is it something you don’t worry about/you don’t live near wild turkeys?
My new house is very near a wood with a flock of wild turkeys and while I would love some wild hybrids I’m not sure how safe or ethical it is.
