I had to give that vicious stink eye laden broody some extra eggs this morning.....her sister is also broody but much nicer, and not doing a great job. Had to steal her remaining eggs and give them to another hen......and then take THAT hen's eggs and give them to the evil one.
I am now bleeding and wounded. Welts on my hand. Broken skin. Sometimes you really should heed the stinky eye warning
[WHY-I am nuts!] when they go broody or are an actual momma. Where I keep my horse there are 2 hens that claimed one chick..YA need whips/chains/flak jacket/goggles/shin guards/and leather gloves! YIKES! worse than a mad roo. And yes I have welts on my hands.....
THAT IS ONE SAFE FUZZY-BUTT!
oh and keeping on the subject of STINK-EYE yes I can whole heartedly say those two hens will give you a heart attack and put you in an early grave with their 2 SETS of stink-eye.....
Since I'm a newer member, I am not allowed to post images. I want to contribute to this collage of stink-eye so please go to "bartchick" page and see a good picture of the ole stink eye from our late Light Brahma rooster named "Bull". He was a great roo but was far too heavy for the lighter/smaller hens and was devastating their back feathers and some were even coming up lame for a day or two. We got him as a "give-away" with our chick order and really had no desire to cross-breed him with our mixed flock of hens. We enjoyed him right up until his final day of reckoning. We will enjoy him again some Sunday. After we "cured" him of the ole stink-eye, the hens settled down, were much calmer and healed up nicely.
