I realized that the eggs I am trying to hatch don't really have a visible air sack, it's just not there or too small. I'm quite sad that they may not hatch at all. But besides the air sack, there's the possibility they may explode I looked for the stuff that shows that and I'm quite confused. The gooey stuff that's said to show isn't exactly gooey but just yellow and hard, I may not have looked during the right time to see it gooey so it hardened before. The eggs are also hard to tell if they are even developing correctly they seem to be doing well but I haven't seen any veins or really a clear sign that there's a chick in there. I can't take photos since I have nothing to take photos with so I'm sorry.
I would like some help, please. Should I just stop attempting to incubate?

My first time may be a fail but I won't let that damper my spirit of love for chickens.

Is there any bad smells? I personally smell a bad egg before i see them. As for candling I'm No help i rarely candle. If it don't smell bad it stays in the incubator until 2 days past the hatch date.

Hi and welcome,

There is a thread on candling in the learning center. Perhaps the photos there would be helpful. As in comparing what you see with the ones in that thread.

Please remember 18 days is just the average.

I wish I had better answers for you,
